Billy Run Again is the long-awaited sequel to the cult 80s game, Billy la Banlieue. Developed by the original creator and his son, this new chapter brings the Parisian hooligan back to a retro Paris faithful to the spirit of the era. I had the pleasure of contributing to this nostalgic project by working on the graphics, game development in PixiJS, as well as the game's website and trailer.
The game preserves the essence of the original while adapting it to modern technologies. Players will rediscover the iconic gameplay mixing urban exploration, street fights, and arcade mini-games, all set in a richly detailed 1980s Paris. My work involved recreating this unique atmosphere while enhancing the visual and interactive experience for today's players.
Billy Run Again is more than just a video game; it's a bridge between generations of players. It offers long-time fans a dose of pure nostalgia while introducing a new generation to this unique universe. As a developer and designer on this project, I had the opportunity to combine modern development techniques with retro aesthetics, creating a gaming experience that is both familiar and refreshing.
