Project Overview
DeskPress is a WordPress plugin designed to modernize the administration experience. It replaces the linear flow of wp-admin with a customizable desktop where WordPress pages open in floating windows. Users can organize their tools, save workspaces, add business widgets, launch actions from the keyboard and adapt the appearance of the back-office to their context.
The plugin is built on a modular PHP architecture with a React/TypeScript interface. Data remains inside WordPress through dedicated tables, user meta and internal REST routes. A widget API allows the interface to be extended with new business data. Paid plans add white-label, login branding, richer search and Pro widgets. Studio and Agency add client mode, role-based menus and workspace templates, while Agency also adds client reports and multisite deployment.
The result is a WordPress back-office that is more productive for administrators, easier to read for editors and more valuable for agencies delivering sites to clients.
